At GreenSmart, we are passionate about providing our customers with services that are not just economically friendly, but also environmentally friendly. We are proud to work with Nu-Heat, one of the country’s most experienced integrated renewable companies, to ensure that you get the best possible renewable heating system for your home.
Renewable energy is energy that originates from natural sources that are replenished faster than they are consumed. Generating renewable energy creates much fewer emissions than those created when fossil fuels are burned to create energy.
Transitioning to renewable energy from fossil fuels is key to addressing the climate crisis, and they tend to be cheaper than fossil fuels too.
Renewable heating systems use renewable sources of energy, such as solar, wind and hydroelectricity to heat your home. Renewable energy systems have the ability to reduce CO2 emissions by 70% by 2050.
At GreenSmart, we are pleased to work alongside renewable heating company Nu-Heat, to offer our customers a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional boilers and radiators.
Infinite resources
Reduced emissions
Lower energy costs
Cleaner air
Through our collaboration with Nu-Heat, we are able to offer a number of different renewable energy systems to our customers. By choosing a renewable heating system for your home or business, you can decrease your energy bills, as well as significantly reduce your carbon footprint!
A heat pump is a low carbon heat source. There are two different types of heat pumps, ground-source and air-source heat pumps, that use electricity to extract the heat stored in the ground or air and use it to heat your property and water.
Heat pumps are an eco-friendly solution to heating that moves away from fossil fuels, and they are incredibly efficient. For every unit of electricity that a heat pump uses to extract warmth from the ground or air, it usually outputs three to four as ‘free’ heat energy. On top of these benefits, many homeowners can also reclaim the cost of installing a heat pump over a seven-year period through the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
Underfloor heating is a method of heating spaces by distributing heat beneath the floor’s surface. There are two main types of underfloor heating systems:
Due to the larger surface area, underfloor heating can be around 15% – 40% more efficient than traditional radiators, often resulting in savings on your energy bills. On top of this, the even distribution of heat and the lower temperatures means that less energy is wasted than when using traditional radiators and heat is gradually distributed throughout the room.
Solar thermal systems are another renewable energy option that uses solar panels to provide hot water. Solar panels are affordable to install, and most homes can generate 60% of their annual domestic hot water with this type of system. On top of this, Solar thermal also qualifies for the Renewable Heat Incentive.

Renewable heat sources offer a number of different benefits, including reduced greenhouse gas emissions and lower energy bills. Many renewable heating solutions also have low maintenance costs and can increase the value of a property.
Underfloor heating systems are generally more efficient than traditional radiators because they distribute heat more evenly across a larger surface area, allowing for lower operating temperatures. This can lead to significant energy savings and increased comfort.
The main types of heat pumps are air-source and ground-source. Air-source heat pumps are typically easier and less expensive to install, making them suitable for most homes. Ground-source heat pumps are more efficient and cost-effective over time but can involve higher installation costs due to the potential for extensive ground works.
We are able to install underfloor heating in both new builds and existing homes. Retrofitting an existing home may involve more work, such as raising the floor level to accommodate the heating system or removing existing flooring. However, modern systems are designed to minimise disruption, and there are solutions available that can be laid over existing floors.
